#28> The 100 Most Underwhelming Tourist Attractions in the World
Inspired by Hillman's list of the World's Wonders, (I have been to 37 of them so far, 40 by the end of the year) I have decided to create my own list. In no particular order I will name the 100 most underwhelming tourist attractions in the world. Suggestions are welcome.
I will start off the list with #28, the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen. I visited it this weekend with a friend. There was a large crowd of tourists looking at this pretty small statue on the Danish shores of the Øresund (a body of water that separates Denmark and Sweden.) I just can't see why this is Denmark's biggest tourist attraction. It's tiny. You'd think they'd be ashamed by this. Get it together Denmark!

Plymouth Rock is the size of a large dog.
sad, just sad
And Lake Superior is but a failed sea. (it's true, my Geo prof told me so)

The Bilbao Guggenheim. Great building that you can appreciate in 5 minutes, which is filled with a big hollow space containing about 12 pieces of art that were rejected from other Guggenheims.

Beverly Hills. You go expecting to see movie starts and glitzy mansions and end up seeing...walls, security fences, guard towers. Those celebrities are so holed up you've got a better chance of seeing Bush actually working in the white house after 4:00 PM. And who could blame them for holing up, what with all the poor tourists like me driving around trying to catch a glimpse. I'm cheaper then most, though, and didn't shell out $10 for a map showing which wall belongs to which famous person.
Beethoven--how do I become a contributor? surely I can do better than the pink wizard.
